Job description

Title:                      Crew Member

Reports to:         General Manager

Position Summary: Your main responsibility as a Crew Member is to deliver an “I Love It Here” experience to every guest; with this role we are recruiting for experienced Crew Members to work Late Night Closing and Weekend Shifts ending at 1:00am. 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Guest Engagement

  1. Welcoming every guest with a smile.
  2. Delivering fast, friendly and accurate service to all guests.
  3. Answering guest questions related to the menu and suggestive selling to help the guest order.
  4. Having knowledge of the various Guest Programs and technology such as Thanx, Kiosk and Online Ordering.

Product Excellence

  1. Having full knowledge of the menu and ingredients profile for all Melt menu items.
  2. Ensuring order accuracy upon guest delivery.
  3. Monitoring ticket times to ensure food is delivered within THE MELT’s speed of service guidelines.
  4. Following recipes accurately during food prep as well as sandwich builds, salads, soups, sides, and shakes.

Restaurant Cleanliness and Food Safety

  1. Following all Melt policies related to Uniform, Grooming and Personal Hygiene
  2. Following all food safety and sanitation requirements and practices.
  3. Ensuring Guest Areas such as dining room, restrooms are clean and well stocked at all times.
  4. Ensuring your station (FOH or BOH) is clean and well stocked at all times.

Personal Conduct

  1. Following all Crew policies and procedures related to successful employment at THE MELT.
  2. Promoting teamwork to achieve restaurant goals.
  3. Attending and being punctual to all scheduled shifts.
  4. Communicating with fellow crew members in a courteous and respectful manner.
  5. Following all safety policies and procedures to eliminate risk of injury/illness for crew and guests.

Requirements/Qualifications

  1. MUST BE HAPPY & at least 16 years old to apply.
  2. Must have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
  3. Must be available to work flexible hours including peak sales times, opening shifts, closing shifts, and weekends.
  4. Prior experience not required but helps if you've worked in a restaurant, deli, cafe, fast food, coffee, retail or customer service.
  5. Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Must be able to read and communicate in English.
  7. Must be able to lift between 25-50 lbs.
