JOB TITLE Cosmetic Dermatology Medical Assistant

COMPENSATION Starting $22-$23 (TBD with experience)

LOCATION/HOME OFFICE Bucktown (1765 N Elston)

SCHEDULED HOURS Monday through Friday availability, following provider schedule


REPORTS TO Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Manager / Physician Leadership

JOB SUMMARY Manage and coordinate the patient relationship by providing courteous and professional service in all interactions. Assignments include Appointment scheduling, scribing patient visits, answering triage, hands on assisting, counseling patients, before and after clinic preparations, patient care follow ups, and other patient inquiry and problem resolution.

*This role is primarily a float/runner position within our cosmetic clinic, with hands-on training in Medical Assistant skills. You will act as support coverage when a cosmetic assistant is out of the office or unavailable, making this a great opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced cosmetic clinical environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Specific Responsibilities:

  • Quick learner, able to learn cosmetic dermatology procedures, terminology, and coding
  • Knowledgeable in sterilization procedures for rooms and instruments
  • Able to quickly build positive relationships with a wide variety of patients and personality styles
  • Good listener able to communicate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Able to communicate relevant information to the physician prior to each visit
  • Able to provide accurate education on procedures, treatments and products to patients
  • Able to communicate pre- and post-care instructions
  • Able to jump in and assist with a variety of cosmetic procedures, anticipating the needs of the doctor, helping to ensure a quality outcome
  • Have strong EMR and technology skills
  • Able to scribe accurately and completely during cosmetic visits
  • Able to help with patient triage and call backs
  • Able to cross promote and provide patients with additional information on the full range of services offered at practice location
  • Team player able to provide excellent physician support and patient care
  • Work well in a team environment where the doctor is the leader of their team

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA policies related to a group practice
  • Experience with EMR and practice management systems
  • Current certification in BLS/CPR
  • Passion for cosmetic dermatology
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility to match weekly schedule with Provider
  • Comfortable with needles, blood and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years Dermatology or Cosmetic Surgery Experience
  • Familiar with ModMed/EMA

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate
  • 2+ years customer service experience
  • Well developed written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of customer service principles
  • Ability to accurately record and transmit detailed information
  • Ability to use tact and sensitivity to timing in personal transactions
  • Previous experience in operating office systems: personal computer, printers, copiers, fax, postage machine, telephone, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and working at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at times
