Job description

Who we are:
Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) is the leading animal shelter for the cities of Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Canyon Lake and Wildomar, and small parts of Riverside County. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides top-quality animal welfare and animal control services for our client cities. Who we’re looking for:
Veterinarian / Veterinary Surgeon
What you will be doing:
  • Average of 25 - 45 spay/neuter surgeries per day (depending on the mix) that directly reduces pet overpopulation in 6 cities
  • Shelter Medicine
  • Some General Veterinary Practice
  • Minor dental treatment
  • Perform vaccinations, diagnostic treatment and physical examinations to determine proper sheltering / placement of animals
  • Utilizing appropriate medical equipment, perform sterilization and other surgeries as needed on animals; administer anesthesia and/or other medications as required.

What you’ll need:
  • Must have current California Driver’s License.
  • Must have current California Veterinary License.
  • Must have Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
  • Must have background in small animal medicine and surgery; primarily dogs, cats and rabbits.
