Job description

Location: Alsip, IL.
Starting pay $24/hr
12 hour shifts, 5:30 am - 5:30 pm or 5:30 pm - 5:30 am.
Job Dimensions:
The Logistics Technician is responsible for monitoring the filtering, loading, and movement of different latex products to assigned tanks or trailers at the Alsip, IL facility; also responsible for receiving & shipping raw materials. This position reports directly to the Alsip Production Supervisor.
Activities:
-Manage filtration operation for latex products off multiple reactor lines.
-Load latex products into various containers for shipment to customers.
-Follow housekeeping and safety procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.-Responsible for unloading of deliveries at the warehouse dock.
-Attend daily meetings and provide routine communication on the daily loading activities and associated production needs.
-Follow up these communications in writing, telephone or e-mail as needed.
-Routine use of a computer to communicate via e-mail, complete online training and other tasks as assigned.
-Work closely with the control room operator to maintain operations.
-Completes daily and weekend checklists, including daily inventory.
-Ensures workplace safety by conducting safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
-Comply with all standard procedures and work instructions to ensure productivity, quality assurance and cost effectiveness.
-Identify and communicate potential gains or possible improvements to the management system.
-Supports the site HES (Health and Environmental Safety) policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
-Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema, Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.).
-Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
-All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
-High school diploma / GED required.
-One to three years' warehousing or logistics experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment is preferred.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision while acting as a strong team member.
-Strong communication skills required.
-Previous forklift or powered industrial equipment license or certification is preferred.
-Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights.
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
-Must be able to wear a respirator.-Must be able to enter confined spaces.
-Must be a highly motivated, team player and able to work independently.
