Step into Your New Role 

We are currently seeking a full-time Construction Observer who performs construction inspection tasks to verify compliance with standard codes and ordinances, environmental, zoning regulations, as well as contract plans, specifications, and special provisions. Inspections may be general in nature or limited to a specific field. Works under limited supervision from Supervisor/Manager within specific guidelines and protocols on moderately complex assignments. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards, codes and specifications; takes action according to findings.
  • Prepares daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
  • Assists in preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required by the project.
  • Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
  • Coordinate/perform field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
  • Performs quantity calculations for pay estimates.
  • Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.
  • Performs labor compliance interviews as necessary.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with Contractor, Owner and Project Stakeholders as directed.
  • Ability/certifications to perform materials sampling and testing is an added benefit.
