Facilities Warehouse Technician
Work Mode: Onsite
Location:Kohler, WI
Opportunity
Responsible for performing the duties necessary to process all movements within Destination Kohler. Responsibilities include prioritizing warehouse for unloading, loading, check items in from properties, and stage items for properties. Also responsible for picking up items from properties, coordinating material deliveries, picking up and distributing items via maintenance ordering systems. Working alone or as part of a team, perform all processes in accordance with Destination Kohler process. Operate a variety of powered or manual material handling equipment, inventory control systems, and other related equipment such as scales, calculators, bar code readers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, etc.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain the work area, practice, and follow all required safety regulations.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for work tasks.
  • Receive phone calls from customers, carriers, or truck drivers regarding overages and shortages. Investigate and call back with findings.
  • Meet schedules, time frames and project deadlines.
  • Manage multiple tasks to obtain timely results.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and handle more than one task at a time and is also able to manage interruptions and down time.
  • Challenge established work procedures with intent to improve the process.
  • Seeks other opinions before making decisions; willing to confer with team members to find viable solutions to situations.

  • Using various types of powered lift trucks, transport product from transfer lines or drop zones to locations identified on location ticket. Verify part number, quantity, and location accurately.
  • Notify the right personnel of wrong or damaged products.
  • Assess staged product for proper loading sequence and consolidate partial pallets of product when needed.
  • Using proper equipment, move palletized or loose product from shipping staging area in the warehouse, position the pallets or loose pieces in the warehouse.
  • Use the proper dunnage such as air bags, lumber, etc. to brace and/or bulkhead, securing the product.
  • Pick, Verify and Load shipments as assigned by supervision or other leaders.
  • Special pack product for export, air freight, and LTL shipments when required, assemble, and palletize.
  • Perform re-packing of all damaged carton products in accordance with the non-conforming carton standards provided.
  • Confirm all picked shipments and replenishments.
  • Perform all inventory transactions necessary.
  • Assist co-workers as required.
  • Perform minor maintenance and report abnormalities.
  • Take initiative to address all process and equipment malfunctions and problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of and follow all safety regulations in effect.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Cooperate, collaborate and effectively utilize cross-functional resources.
  • Interact with other teams to accomplish goals.
  • Communicate, provide feedback and use collaborative decision-making.
  • Provide operational information to upper management. Receive feedback from upper management and collaborate to achieve goals.
  • Daily parts delivery and conduct inventory activities, including physical counts, picking up items from vendors, and distributing items to appropriate properties.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Skills/Requirements
  • Two-year associate degree or a high school diploma with a minimum of three (3) years of
  • experience in warehousing and shipping procedures and methods.
  • Knowledge of Kohler Co. product offering is helpful.
  • Capable of effective oral/written communication.
  • PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Training.
  • Drivers license.

Learn and be able to:
Operate and load stretch wrapping equipment.
Use electronic data entry equipment at a basic level.
Have, or learn basic computer skills.

The hourly range for this position is $18.30 - $27.50. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
