Job description

Covington, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Warehouseperson to support daily warehouse, inventory, receiving, and order fulfillment operations. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, picking, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products while maintaining accurate inventory records and a safe, organized warehouse environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a physically active environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Receive, store, organize, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products.
  • Review customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, production schedules, and requisitions to determine materials or products needed.
  • Move materials from receiving or production areas to designated warehouse or storage locations.
  • Sort and organize materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, product code, or other established inventory systems.
  • Pick and assemble customer orders accurately from warehouse stock.
  • Prepare completed orders for packing, shipping, or customer pickup.
  • Fill requisitions and work orders for materials, tools, and other stock items.
  • Label and mark materials with appropriate identifying information.
  • Open and unpack crates, containers, and incoming shipments as needed.
  • Count or weigh materials to verify quantities and ensure order accuracy.
  • Record quantities of materials and products received, moved, or distributed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Enter warehouse, inventory, and order information into computer systems.
  • Prepare worksheets, order tickets, requisitions, and other warehouse documentation.
  • Prepare packages and parcels for shipment or mailing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work area.
  • Follow established company safety, security, quality, and operating procedures.
  • Properly use warehouse equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and assist with other warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse or related experience required.
  • Previous experience with receiving, shipping, order picking, material handling, inventory, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to order and inventory accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Experience with inventory software, order-processing systems, Microsoft Office, or similar computer systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, customer orders, work orders, and shipping documentation.
  • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to accurately work with quantities, weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Dependable and punctual with the ability to complete assigned work within required timelines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment handling.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical warehouse activities throughout the workday.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently handle heavier materials or products as required by the position.
  • Ability to safely work around moving mechanical equipment and in varying warehouse or outdoor conditions.
