The Warehouse Lead works under the direction of the Branch Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing and participating in the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing inventory. Maintain receiving and inventory control records and prepare related reports; serve as a lead over one or more warehousepersons; train and provide work direction and guidance to warehouse staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and participate in receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contact vendors regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.
  • Oversee and participate in the stocking of products; plan storage locations; determine proper location of supplies to allow for maximum space utilization.
  • Serve as a lead over an assigned warehouse function; train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments for warehouse associates.
  • Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse experience with leading teams, setting goals and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Understanding of the basic computer flow transactions - receiving, locator maintenance, shipping documents, etc.
  • Ability to initiate and adapt to change, and work in a team environment.
  • Maintain inventory and service levels to meet all customer requirements. Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment.
