Job description

Providence Cristo Rey High School, part of the Cristo Rey Network, on the southside of Indianapolis, is hiring a Computer Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year. Responsibilities include advancing the mission of Providence Cristo Rey, modeling the example of Jesus Christ as the Master Teacher, teaching Computer Science and related science courses to freshmen and sophomore students, unit planning and weekly lesson planning, use of the school LMS, collaborating with teams to improve student outcomes, fostering a positive learning environment, and more.

Job Summary:
Adhering to mission, and under the supervision of the principal and pastor or high school president, the teacher will collaborate with parents and fellow professional educators to foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of the children entrusted in his/her care.
Job Responsibilities:
Facilitates Faith Formation
Prays with and for students, families and colleagues and their intentions.
Models the example of Jesus, the Master Teacher, in what He taught, how He lived, and how He treated others.
Participates in religious instruction and Catholic formation, including Christian services, offered at the school. Non-Catholic teachers are expected to participate to the fullest extent possible.
Designs and Plans Instruction
Prepares annual plan, unit plans, daily lesson plans using Archdiocesan, Cristo Rey Network and Indiana state standards.
Submits lesson plans weekly.
Use school Learning Management System.
Varies learning experiences for all students and uses data to inform instruction.
Collaborates with multiple teacher teams to support all learners.
Chooses high quality and appropriate instructional materials.
Designs lessons and units with specific content team and work with interdisciplinary teams to connect content for authentically engaging learning experiences.
Implements Curriculum and Manages Instruction
Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Uses technology to support learning.
Establishes efficient classroom routines to maximize instructional time.
Follows ISPs, CSEPs, and Catholic School Accommodation Plans for students who have them.
Is available to support student learning outside of class hours
Assesses and Communicates Learning Results
Aligns formative and summative assessments with learning objectives and standards and uses the data to enhance instruction for the growth of all learners.
Administers standardized tests as required by the Indiana Department of Education.
Provides frequent and useful feedback on progress to students and parents.
Communicates academic progress according to the quarterly and semester school schedule.
Communicates academic progress to the Academic Team.
Initiates parent contact as appropriate, conducts parent-teacher conferences as scheduled by the school and as requested by parents.
Maintains accurate permanent records for students using student information system.
Develops and Maintains a Positive Learning Environment
Maintains a caring rapport and relationship with students.
Contributes positively to the learning environment of the entire institution.
Proactively identifies and addresses physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and of the community of learners, engaging other professionals as needed.
Uses classroom management techniques that provide a Christ-centered atmosphere that fosters self-discipline and a sense of personal responsibility.
Maintains and communicates high academic and behavioral expectations and supports students in meeting those expectations.
Addresses behavior and academic issues in an effective, consistent, and fair manner.
Documents and communicates behavioral issues to parents and the Academic Team in a timely and appropriate manner.
Provides supervision and engages students outside of the classroom and as assigned by the principal.
Professional Growth and Development

Maintains proper certification and licensure as required by the State of Indiana.
Meets the Archdiocese of Indianapolis's professional growth requirements and all local requirements as determined by the principal.
Maintains records of Professional Growth Points (PGPs) and submits them to the IDOE in collaboration with the principal.
Participates fully in faculty meetings and professional development meetings/in-services, contributes to school-wide goals, and supports colleagues and administrators in their own professional growth.
Participates fully in the archdiocesan performance appraisal process for educators.
Participates in spiritual retreats, days of reflection, and spiritual formation programs as directed by the principal and as required by Archdiocesan faith formation expectations.
Additional Professional Responsibilities
Follows local protocol as published in the faculty/staff handbook, student/family handbook, and in other related policies, protocols, rules and regulations.
Serves on school committees and in other capacities as directed by the school principal.
Assists as requested with school fundraisers and development efforts.
Prepares for, attends, and participates in Registration, Open House, annual fundraiser, graduation, etc. as directed by the school principal.
Prepares, attends, and participates in grade level specific events/programs/initiatives, etc.
