Working as a Wide-Format Digital Press Operator involves operating and maintaining large-format printing equipment to produce various printed materials, such as banners, posters, signage, and other large-scale graphics.

**Responsibilities:**

Operate and monitor wide-format digital printing presses to ensure accurate and high-quality output.

Load and unload printing materials, such as rolls of paper, vinyl, or other substrates, into the printing equipment.

Conduct quality checks on printed materials to ensure color accuracy, clarity, and overall print quality. Adjust settings as needed to meet quality standards.

Perform routine maintenance on the printing equipment, including cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting issues that may arise during the printing process.

Understand and adjust color profiles to achieve accurate and consistent color reproduction.

Set up and configure printing jobs based on job specifications, including selecting appropriate media, setting printing parameters, and ensuring proper alignment.

Coordinate and prioritize printing jobs to meet production deadlines.

Identify and resolve issues related to printing equipment, such as jams, misfeeds, and print head problems.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  **Requirements:**

Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting wide-format digital printing equipment. Familiarity with printing software and RIP (Raster Image Processor) systems.

Ability to notice and address small details to ensure the quality of the final printed product.

Understanding of color theory and the ability to manage color profiles for accurate and consistent results.

Comfortable with routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and clients to understand job requirements and address any concerns.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet production deadlines.

Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy rolls of printing materials.


**Experience and Education:**

Three to 10 years' experience as a wide-format digital press operator or in a related printing role is preferred.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional vocational or technical training in printing technology is preferred.


**Certifications:**

Certifications in relevant printing technologies preferred.
