Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Manager

TheManager of the Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Teams will play a pivotal rolein driving the design, implementation, management and observability of ourcloud platforms. This role will lead a team of cloud engineers responsible forbuilding scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using tools such asinfrastructure as code (IaC), container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, cloudservices, and other relevant technologies. This role will also lead a team ofsite reliability engineers responsible for observability of our digitalordering platforms and implementing changes and bugfixes to ensure allplatforms are scalable, resilient and performant.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud platform ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and ensure successful delivery of cloud projects.
  • Responsible for cloud engineering team capacity planning and staffing allocation activities to ensure sufficient staffing for current and future needs.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing cloud engineering team. Establish a comprehensive development plan for each team member, focusing on skill enhancement and career growth.
  • Work with team to define measurable and meaningful KPIs for Engineers to strive to and follow.
  • Provide thought leadership, coach the organization on cloud principles, automation, observability improvements, self-healing, high availability/scalability, and root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for managing cloud platform operational cost, understanding the budget and optimizing the spend to achieve maximum value from Cloud investments.
  • Ensure team follows best practices including threat modeling, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, security monitoring/incident response enablement, to ensure privacy and compliance regulations are followed.
  • Continuously assess and improve processes and workflows to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Leads research emerging application and cloud service trends to determine their relevancy and fit for the organization.
  • Manage vendor relationship with cloud and other providers.

The Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years managing Cloud Engineering team with 5+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineering role, with a proven track record of managing cloud platforms and SRE practices.
  • Experience in cloud-based DevOps and managing a mid-size distributed team.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.
  • Experience with writing infrastructure as code (IaC) (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc)
  • Experience with a unified, real-time monitoring and analytics platform, such as Grafana or Datadog
  • Experience using a CI/CD tool like Github actions, CircleCI, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple partner teams from requirements gathering to roadmap planning to delivery.
  • Understanding of DevOps fundamentals such as security, scalability, and reliability
  • Ability to design and create cloud-based software defined networking.
  • Familiarity with fault tolerant infrastructure designs including the use of regions and availability zones.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or relevant cloud provider certifications are a plus.

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Occasional travel as required.
