This role provides leadership and coordination to drive the LyondellBasell Goal ZERO vision that meets the needs of the APS business organization.

The main objective is to continue to drive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) performance improvement for APS with respect to LyondellBasell employees, contractors and external communities by providing direction, support, coaching and verification of HSE Systems and improvement plans across diverse cultures and regions.

This position will be responsible for maintaining organizational interfaces and alignment with APS Manufacturing Sites with particular emphasis on occupational safety.

A Day in the Life

   Develop, implement and manage APS specific Occupational Safety standards including the roll out of revisions following any reviews.
   Define and coordinate annual HSE objectives for APS, with clear focus on continuous improvement in the areas of occupational safety, health & environment.
   Develop and implement value adding processes to consistently use global applications such as Intelex and Barrier Failure Analysis. 
   Lead periodic regional HSE Manager meetings to provide a forum for the sharing and implementation of appropriate best practices and learning from experience. 
   Develop and drive comprehensive awareness campaigns, aligned with business needs, to increase knowledge and recognition of APS site hazards.  
   Lead and participate, as required, in internal self-assessments and OE audits to identify risks, opportunities and best practices for APS sites.
   Manage the new APS site leader '90 day' HSE assessment process and participate in periodic site appraisals

You Bring This Value

   Site HSE management on a manufacturing site in the (petro) chemical industry.
   Substantial knowledge of HSE processes and management (preferably from within LyondellBasell).
   Knowledge and understanding of Regional HSE differences in the countries where APS operate
   Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. 
   Ability to lead through influence and excellent interpersonal skills. 
   Proficient in incident investigation and auditing processes 

Education
   Occupational health and safety, engineering, or science based degree or other similar experience based qualifications 
   An additional professional safety certification is preferred

Work Experience 
   10-15 years of experience in HSE co-ordination / management in the (petro) chemical industry, additionally some experience within a batch process unit is preferred
   Time spend in a coaching or leadership role related to risk based processes across multiple locations is preferred

Languages 
   English, additional languages could be an advantage
