Job description

Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for the general maintenance, safety, troubleshooting and upgrading of all electrical/electronic control systems on the attractions at Busch Gardens Tampa with the objective of improving ride operational time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee safety guidelines in all attraction related areas.

  • Design, program, repair and maintain programmable logic controller systems.

  • Review shutdowns incidents and develop solutions to reduce attraction downtime.

  • Implement and track preventative maintenance plans to prevent equipment failure.

  • Develop and provide PLC training to other maintenance team members.

  • Ensure PLCs are secure and running the correct program versions.

  • Update and maintain library of programs, schematics, IO lists, etc.

  • Evaluate and maintain software inventories installed on workstations.

  • Prepare and train step by step operating and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Recommend, assist in planning and oversee installation of electronic/electrical system upgrades and repairs.

  • Plan and preform annual maintenance tasks on PLC and attraction systems based on downtime incidents, inspections and overall condition of the attraction's components.

  • Communicate information, incidents, requests, schedules etc. with ride vendors and contractors through written and verbal methods.

  • Maintain parts inventories based on usage and demand.

  • Coordinates multiple trades and contractors during maintenance projects.

  • Encourage and demonstrate open and professional communication and cooperation between all departments at Busch Gardens Tampa.

  • Responsible for excellent guest/team member relations and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years in the electrical industrial maintenance field; theme park experience preferred.

  • Leadership experience with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment preferred.

  • Experience installing and servicing a variety of systems including safety and security, energy delivery (hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical), communication, and process control systems.

  • Must have proficiency maintaining and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic systems, VFDs, DC drives and HMIs using but not limited to Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems.

  • Must have an understanding of wiring schematics, electrical drawings, circuits and computer programming.

  • Must have computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and AutoCAD electrical design programs.

  • Must have basic math skills.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Candidates must be a working supervisor who can train and motivate a maintenance team.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work independently and have flexibility to work successfully in a team environment when needed.

  • Must demonstrate initiative, organizational and interpersonal skills; Professional and outgoing presence required.

  • Ability to provide excellent service and manage professional relationships with internal and external guests.

  • Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting techniques, and reporting of unsafe situations.

  • Must be willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.

  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.

  • Must be able to meet current SEA driving guidelines.

  • Must be able to push, pull, carry, lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb to and work at heights exceeding 300'.

  • Stand, walk, bend and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
