What you will be doing?
Assists with the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations in the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review daily revenue reports and Night Audit reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile daily revenue, credit card transactions, and financial records.
  • Verify banquet revenue, room rates, tax exemptions, and out-of-service room reporting.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including billing, payment posting, collections, and account reconciliation.
  • Set up new customer accounts according to hotel credit policies.
  • Process credit card reconciliations, chargebacks, refunds, and cancellations with proper documentation.
  • Prepare and send accurate invoices for groups, events, and individual guests.
  • Verify group billing, package postings, and event charges are accurate.
  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with hotel policies and accounting standards.
  • Maintain organized financial records, credit files, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure accurate reporting and account coding.
  • Support daily administrative tasks and department communications.
  • Provide excellent internal and guest service while meeting financial deadlines.
  • Stay current on industry regulations and hotel financial procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In the absence of the Director of Finance supervises all staff and ensures all reports are processed promptly, such as month-end closing reports, monthly forecast and variance reports and visually reviews for accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and hospitality finance practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Experience training, mentoring, and supporting managers and team members.
  • Proficient in reviewing financial reports, general ledgers, spreadsheets, and accounting systems.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to build a motivated, cross-trained accounting team.
  • Experience with hotel property management and accounting systems (such as Opera, Micros, or similar platforms) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 pounds and perform limited bending or kneeling as needed to handle office equipment or supplies.
