Job description

Salary: $25-$35 per hour depending on experience and location.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain optimal fuel combustion in boiler systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Operate and control various auxiliary equipment, including deaerators, feedwater pumps ensuring optimal reliability.
  • Monitor boiler gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure proper functionality, and adjust controls as needed to maintain desired boiler performance.
  • Monitor and regulate fuel feed systems, ensuring an adequate and consistent fuel supply.
  • Perform routine inspections and tests on fuel systems, burners, and related equipment to identify and resolve any malfunctions or abnormalities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Keep boiler room clean and organized.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of boiler systems, including replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts as needed.
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, including fire hazards.
  • Keep accurate records of boiler operations, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform rounds to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.

  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure building equipment reliability.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems and report to manager.
  • Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner. Clearly explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as Boiler Operators and maintenance staff, to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the boiler system.
  • Ability to apply standard principles and techniques to solve routine operational problems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Learn CMMS (EAM) for Preventive Maintenance and workorder completion and tracking
  • Enter quality detailed comments (including, but not limited to equipment data)
  • Understand search and filter features
  • Configure Dataspy as needed

Learn basic BMS system operations - Delta and Metasys
  • Understand and master viewing graphics screens
  • Document and communicate inconsistent operational events

Learn basic ServiceNow Service ticketing

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
