Job description

We're looking for a passionate Senior Manager of Marketing to lead the charge on several facets of Minor League Baseball (MiLB) marketing. Reporting to our Vice President of MiLB Marketing, you'll be the driving force behind MiLB's expanding suite of national programming, commercial activation, and fan engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of the MiLB brand across all League assets, departments, and communications as needed
  • Lead Brand Insights for MiLB, partnering with MLB Strategy, Marketing, and external partners to translate fan data into actionable insights
  • Advance our Performance Media strategy and own project management of all national and localized media programs
  • Assume strategic leadership of our Copa de la Diversion Hispanic program and additional community engagement and multicultural platforms, including an audit of impact to-date and identification of opportunities for expansion and/or refinement
  • Serve as a thought leader and consultant for MiLB clubs by identifying and proactively communicating marketing best practices and standards that can be deployed locally
  • Support the Vice President, Marketing in identification and expansion of commercial opportunities across MiLB
  • Coordinate with MLB Special Events on MiLB representation at Jewel Events
  • Collaborate cross functionally with groups including MiLB Club Services, Business Operations, Ticketing, Events, Partnerships, and Design on League-wide initiatives
  • Drive the Business: You will take action against strategic priorities for the MiLB Marketing department, readjusting as business demands change. This requires a deep understanding of the P&L and a commitment to prioritizing revenue and demand generation, balancing a long-term mindset with the ability to tackle short-term priorities
  • Act with Purpose: We want you to respectfully challenge the "way it's always been done." By being relentlessly curious and knowing your "why," you will proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the MiLB brand and business
  • Slow Down to Speed Up: We want you to move fast, but we value taking a second to make a solid plan. You'll be responsible for translating big ideas into structured, clear plans and gaining alignment across our matrixed organization before we act
  • People First: You will be responsible for building trusted relationships with teams across MLB and MiLB in service of departmental priorities and shared business goals. We value leaders who show compassion, assume positive intent, and are honest, direct, and constructive in their communication

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field or study required; Master of Business Administration preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a mid-to-senior level marketing position; experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry is a plus
  • Hispanic/Latino and multicultural marketing experience preferred; Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite required; advanced knowledge of MS Power Point and Excel preferred
  • Be experienced in navigating highly matrixed organizations to introduce and implement process and structure where none may have existed before
  • Be genuinely excited about tackling the challenge of doing great work with limited resources
  • Be capable of working autonomously and in partnership with others, operating from a position of strategic clarity and comfortable leading without a blueprint
  • Be comfortable translating ideas into structured plans and presenting that information clearly and concisely in front of colleagues, peers, and executive management
  • Have demonstrated experience in both creating a strategy and serving as the executional lead in its implementation
  • Maintain a solutions-oriented mindset with a proven track record of innovation and success
  • Have people management experience and a passion for guiding individual development
  • Support a team-first and collaborative department with superior interpersonal skills (listens to others, respectful of differing opinions, works well in a team environment, etc.)
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%
