Great Hill is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer in Orlando, FL. The Azure Cloud Engineer will support cloud modernization and Test & Evaluation (T&E) initiatives through the implementation, sustainment, and security management of Azure Government cloud environments supporting mission-critical Department of Defense training, experimentation, and distributed test operations.

This role fills a critical operational gap between cloud architecture design and hands-on implementation by providing dedicated ownership of Azure infrastructure across IL4, IL5, and emerging IL6 environments. The engineer will be responsible for provisioning, configuring, securing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Azure cloud infrastructure supporting Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments, OneSAF migration activities, distributed test events, DevSecOps pipelines, and onboarding of additional mission partners and capabilities.

The position requires a highly technical engineer capable of operating in both unclassified and classified environments while maintaining compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF), Authority to Operate (ATO), cybersecurity, and configuration management requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and sustain Azure Government cloud infrastructure supporting training and T&E operations.
  • Maintain Azure environments across IL4, IL5, and emerging IL6 enclaves in accordance with DoD cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
  • Support cloud infrastructure provisioning, networking, storage, identity management, and access control implementation.
  • Maintain configuration control and infrastructure consistency across development, test, staging, and operational environments.
  • Support RMF and ATO activities by implementing and sustaining security controls, audit readiness, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance documentation.
  • Integrate and sustain DevSecOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or equivalent platforms.
  • Support migration and sustainment activities associated with OneSAF and other simulation, training, and experimentation systems.
  • Assist with onboarding of new mission partners, capabilities, and cloud-hosted services including distributed T&E platforms and mission systems.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health to ensure platform reliability during mission-critical events and exercises.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, identity, and security issues within classified and constrained operational environments.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel, system administrators, software developers, architects, and government stakeholders to ensure secure and stable operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines.
  • Support continuous modernization and optimization of cloud environments to improve scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure engineering or systems engineering in enterprise or DoD environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Government cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting IL4 and IL5 cloud environments; familiarity with IL6 or classified cloud environments preferred.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Azure networking, virtual machines, storage accounts, identity services, and security controls.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with RMF, STIG compliance, cybersecurity sustainment, and ATO processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure and networking issues.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management, Entra ID, conditional access, and role-based access control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently within classified and mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense T&E, simulation, cyber, or training environments.
  • Familiarity with LVC integration, distributed simulation systems, or OneSAF environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or cloud security monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience supporting classified cloud operations and constrained disconnected environments.
