Full-Time | $30.00 per hour + Performance Bonuses

Position Summary

The Williamsburg Winery is seeking an experienced, hands-on Hotel Manager to lead the daily operations and guest experience at Wedmore Place, our 28-room European-inspired boutique hotel located on the winery grounds.

The Hotel Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations across the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast service, pool, and guest bar areas. This position leads the hotel team, manages reservations and distribution channels, maintains property and service standards, and works closely with winery leadership and other departments to provide an exceptional experience for every guest.

This is an active, guest-facing leadership role that requires someone who is comfortable assisting wherever needed, responding to operational challenges in real time, and setting a strong example for the hotel team.

Compensation

Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Operations and Guest Experience
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the hotel, including the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast service, pool, and guest bar areas
  • Ensure a welcoming, polished, and consistent guest experience from reservation through check-out
  • Maintain high standards for guest-room cleanliness, common-area presentation, and overall property readiness
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, concerns, and service-recovery situations
  • Remain visible and accessible to guests and employees throughout hotel operations
  • Step into operational roles when necessary to support the team and maintain service standards
  • Encourage Wine Club membership by helping hotel guests connect with the winery and its offerings
  • Promote guest satisfaction and appropriately encourage guests to share feedback following their stay
Team Leadership
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule front desk associates, housekeepers, breakfast attendants, and other hotel employees
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality
  • Conduct regular coaching, performance management, and employee development
  • Monitor staffing and scheduling based on occupancy, reservations, and operational needs
  • Ensure hotel employees follow company policies, service standards, and safety procedures
Reservations and Revenue Management
  • Manage reservations, room inventory, rates, restrictions, and availability through WebRezPro
  • Maintain and optimize room listings across Expedia, Booking.com, and other third-party booking channels
  • Monitor occupancy, average daily rate, RevPAR, booking pace, and market demand
  • Make informed pricing and inventory recommendations to improve occupancy and overall hotel revenue
  • Ensure reservation details, guest requests, packages, and group blocks are accurately entered and communicated
  • Identify opportunities to increase direct bookings, repeat stays, upgrades, and additional guest spending
Financial and Administrative Oversight
  • Monitor departmental payroll, scheduling, purchasing, and operating expenses
  • Assist with the development and management of the hotel’s operating budget
  • Ensure accurate daily revenue reporting, payment processing, and reconciliation
  • Review operational reports and communicate hotel performance to senior leadership
  • Maintain organized records relating to reservations, staffing, inventory, incidents, and guest concerns
  • Implement procedures that improve efficiency, service quality, and cost control
Facilities, Safety, and Compliance
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, common areas, exterior spaces, pool areas, and hotel equipment
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team and outside vendors regarding repairs, preventative maintenance, and property improvements
  • Ensure the pool and guest bar areas remain clean, safe, compliant, and ready for use
  • Monitor hotel inventory and ensure appropriate levels of linens, housekeeping supplies, breakfast items, guest amenities, and operating materials
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, alcohol-service, and hospitality requirements
Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Work closely with winery leadership, the tasting room, food and beverage, events, maintenance, marketing, and accounting teams
  • Support weddings, group reservations, corporate stays, winery events, and special guest experiences
  • Communicate group blocks, VIP arrivals, special requests, and operational needs across departments
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the connection between the hotel and the overall winery experience
Qualifications
  • At least 3–5 years of hotel management, lodging operations, or hospitality leadership experience
  • Experience managing a boutique hotel or small-to-mid-sized property strongly preferred
  • Previous responsibility for front desk, housekeeping, reservations, and guest-service operations
  • Experience with hotel property-management systems; WebRezPro experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Expedia, Booking.com, and other online travel agencies
  • Understanding of hotel performance measurements, including occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR
  • Proven ability to lead, schedule, train, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor and a genuine commitment to hospitality
  • Ability to remain calm, responsive, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to regularly move throughout guest rooms, common areas, outdoor grounds, and pool spaces
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 25–50 pounds when necessary
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
