Job description

Principal Associate, Content Manager
Capital One Auto is seeking a high-impact, hands-on Principal Associate, Content Manager to lead the strategy, creation, and optimization of multi-media content for our Dealer audience.
In this role, you will be the primary architect of our B2B automotive content strategy. You are someone who can pivot seamlessly between hands-on development of high-value content and management of external agency partners. You will play a critical role in driving brand awareness and engagement across the dealer journey through always-on, multi-media content creation. You will be tasked with building an integrated, omnichannel strategy and roadmap that helps dealerships navigate the evolving automotive landscape.
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently lead the strategy, creation, and execution of multi-media content, ensuring a consistent and on-brand voice that speaks to automotive professionals.
  • Write, edit, and produce high-impact content across various communication channels, such as blogs, how-to guides, articles, e-books, videos, industry reports, webinars, and more - seamlessly navigating workflow from creation to publication to ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with internal SEO/GEO experts to ensure content is discoverable and ranks for high-intent Dealer searches.
  • Autonomously build and maintain the editorial calendar, aligning content themes with product updates, industry trends, and business goals.
  • Proactively drive the brand's visual identity by leading the creation of compelling graphics, engaging short-form video, and high-quality photography that elevates our digital storytelling and connects with our audience.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • You have a deep understanding of the automotive industry and can confidently speak the language of automotive dealers.
  • You excel in multi-media communications; you can craft compelling copy that resonates with automotive professionals and guide the visual execution (graphics, video, photography) needed to bring those stories to life.
  • You are comfortable working as a solo contributor, managing your own roadmap, deadlines, and workstreams with meticulous attention to detail.
  • You are data-informed and outcome-driven; you regularly look at content performance metrics to understand what resonates with dealers and use those insights to optimize future strategy.
  • You have an enthusiasm for AI-integrated workstreams and a strong grasp of modern SEO and AI-search discovery principles.
  • You know how to get the best work out of an agency by providing sharp creative briefs and qualitative feedback, ensuring all outsourced work meets Capital One's high standards.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience focused on developing and managing content workflow and editorial production.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing or communications department for a Fortune 500 company or within an advertising/marketing agency.
  • 2+ years of experience with automotive B2B marketing, automotive media or agencies, automotive lending providers, or automotive SaaS providers.
  • 3+ years of experience managing external vendors or creative agencies.
  • 3+ years of experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and modern visual creation/editing tools
