Job Summary:
Tesla is responsible for enhancing the customer journey from order to ownership experience across over 60 countries. The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure the testability of applications, build test automation, and maintain a scalable test infrastructure in a continuous integration environment.
Responsibilities:
• Drive quality assurance for web and mobile apps engineered by the digital team, from inception to deployment
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, including functionality, end-to-end, integration, and regression testing, using industry-standard tools and methodologies
• Collaborate with product managers and developers in a small-team environment to understand requirements, translate them into detailed test cases, and ensure alignment on quality goals
• Create and maintain automated test suites and frameworks using tools like Selenium and Python (or similar tools and languages)
• Perform hands-on testing using available tools such as REST APIs, database queries/manipulation, application logs, etc., to validate functionality and data integrity
• Define, implement, and maintain test plans, specifications, and suites to improve overall code coverage and product quality across supported platforms
• Provide technical leadership by promoting engineering best practices, identifying risks, and contributing to large-scale, cross-functional programs
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., 2+ years in QA or software testing)
• Proficiency in either Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Java, or C#, with hands-on experience in automation testing
• Experience with web application and/or mobile application testing
• Strong knowledge of test methodologies, processes, and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JIRA, Git, SQL), including black-box/grey-box testing and client-server architectures
• Familiarity with SQL databases for querying and data manipulation and API testing for backend integration
• Proven ability to work effectively in small teams, supporting developers and adapting to evolving requirements
• Evidence of exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for quality assurance
