Job description

Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the firm's systems operations, including compute, virtualization, access management, endpoint management, operating system and application deployment, patch management, and related operational services. This role also provides oversight for telecommunications and audio-visual technologies.


Partners with IT leadership to recommend computer systems improvements, evaluate hardware, software, and service solutions, manage vendor relationships and service levels, support budgeting and capacity planning, and improve operational reliability, performance, and efficiency across the firm's technology environment.
Manages the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of the firm's systems platforms, including compute, virtualization, storage, access management, endpoint management, operating system and application deployment, patch management, backup, and related operational services.
Provides oversight for telecommunications and audio-visual technologies and supports operational continuity across offices and meeting spaces.
Oversees hardware and software installations, upgrades, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle planning to ensure systems perform in accordance with firm standards and vendor recommendations.
Maintains the security, availability, performance, and reliability of systems and related services.
Maintains assigned software applications and oversees the administration of associated interfaces.
Establishes and maintains written procedures, technical documentation, maintenance schedules, and operational standards.
Advises management on technology advancements, operational improvements, and strategic recommendations that support the firm's business objectives.
Evaluates hardware, software, programs, and services and recommends solutions, policies, and procedures for the day-to-day operation of systems and platforms.
Serves as a member of the firm's Disaster Recovery Team, with responsibility for operations support.
Assists with the area's annual budget and related planning activities.
Uses management skills to lead, train, motivate, and direct assigned staff, including work allocation, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Works, as required, outside of stated regular office hours and may be required to travel with minimal notice.
Attends training sessions concerning skill development and travels to these sessions as required.
Provides management with periodic status updates and project reports.
Remains available by firm-supplied smartphone to help resolve critical issues and facilitate system restoration when needed.
May be required to periodically provide after-hours support to computer users throughout the firm.
Communicates courteously and professionally by phone and in person, using effective communication skills.
Keeps supervisor informed of current issues and potential problems as they develop and seeks advice as needed.
Ensures that employees follow appropriate safety rules while carrying out all duties.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in computer science or a related discipline; or four years advanced network operating system experience; and three to five years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires progressive experience in systems operations, systems administration, or enterprise IT environments, including prior supervisory or team leadership experience. Relevant Microsoft, cloud, infrastructure, or security certifications are preferred.Strong knowledge of enterprise systems technologies, including TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, Windows Server administration, identity and access management, endpoint management, and systems operations. Demonstrated understanding of enterprise platforms such as Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, SCCM or equivalent endpoint tools, and related operational technologies. Ability to balance technical standards, business needs, and end-user experience to improve service delivery and efficiency.
