Job description

 Citi is looking for a Lead Applications Developer to take senior ownership of complex application development initiatives within a global technology team. In this role, you will design and deliver high-impact software solutions integrating Pega development and AI capabilities while setting technical standards and mentoring the next generation of engineers. Your work will directly influence how Citi builds and evolves its application landscape to meet the demands of a fast-moving financial services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver application solutions that align with Citi's overall architecture, setting standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation across engineering teams.

  • Build scalable, high-quality software using Pega development frameworks and AI-driven techniques to address complex business challenges.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions to define system enhancements that enable new products and process improvements.

  • Lead in-depth analysis of business processes and system workflows to identify root causes and engineer innovative, lasting solutions.

  • Develop a deep understanding of how architecture, infrastructure, and application layers interconnect to deliver integrated technology outcomes.

  • Coach and guide mid-level developers and analysts, distributing work effectively to maintain delivery quality and team growth.

  • Evaluate risk implications of engineering decisions with sound judgement, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and escalating control issues transparently.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in application development or systems analysis, with a track record of delivering complex software projects.

  • Proficiency in Pega development, with practical experience applying Pega frameworks to build and configure enterprise applications.

  • Proficiency in AI development techniques, with experience integrating AI capabilities into application design and delivery.

  • Deep expertise in systems analysis and software application programming, spanning full development lifecycle activities.

  • Subject matter expertise in Pega with the ability to lead technical direction.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from initiation through to successful delivery, managing priorities and adapting quickly as requirements evolve.

  • Clear and confident communicator, able to convey technical concepts effectively to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

  • Ability to train and mentor teams on best practices, Engineering standards and work as a team to deliver the goals
