Job description

A Kennel Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of animals in a boarding kennel facility. Reporting to the Kennel Manager and working within a small team of 3, this position involves providing hands-on care, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting animal health through medication administration. The role requires availability for weekend and extended 13-hour shifts to meet the needs of the facility and its animals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care and feeding for boarded animals
  • Clean and sanitize kennels to maintain a safe environment
  • Administer medications as directed to ensure animal health
  • Monitor animal behavior and report concerns to management
  • Collaborate with team to support kennel operations
  • Follow all facility protocols and safety standards
  • Monitor playgroups of an average of 15 dogs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in animal care in a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
