Job description

Amazon Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) is seeking a Procurement & Strategy Manager to work within the Vendor Sourcing and Management team. This role will focus on supporting small to large vendor negotiations through the use of new and existing data analysis tools and will be key to expanding capabilities in advanced modeling and sensitivity analysis. They will directly and indirectly support multiple concurrent negotiations and process improvement activities (internal and external facing) and contribute significantly to the overall execution of transportation and supply chain procurement objectives by: focus on supporting vendor negotiations, support in the development of consistent negotiation methodology, and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholder teams. A successful candidate will be able to enable the delivery on improved financial results, delivery performance, capacity and sustainability efforts.
Key job responsibilities
You manage vendor relationships using defined sourcing strategies and cadences such as quarterly business reviews, across multiple concurrent vendor relationships and sourcing initiatives. You execute vendor evaluation programs and lead RFP processes where the evaluation criteria are defined, you are involved in all aspects of vendor analysis, rate negotiations, and stakeholder presentations.
You are proficient in one or more transportation or logistics service categories. You understand vendor operational models, cost drivers, and capacity constraints. You can analyze vendor performance data to identify optimization opportunities and make recommendations for vendor diversification or consolidation strategies. You develop contingency plans for capacity constraints during peak seasons or market disruptions.
You negotiate standard contract terms with vendors including rates, surcharges including but not limited to accessorials, service commitments, and payment terms, but you need explicit approvals from senior team members for non-standard contract structures or significant financial commitments. You develop negotiation scenarios to establish negotiation limits and walk-away positions. You can handle communications up to Directors and deliver measurable impact through cost savings.
You identify and implement best practices from other procurement teams - such as improved contract templates, vendor scorecard methodologies, or dispute resolution processes - and share them within your team.
A day in the life
This role will work with large data sets, and supplier contractual terms with varying degrees of complexity. This role will work closely with internal stakeholder teams, across finance, controllership, planning and transportation execution and will also work with external stakeholders in the management of assigned accounts.

About the team
This team is responsible for managing 3rd party relationship with B2C suppliers in the export space.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of procurement experience
- 5+ years of relationship management and negotiation experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree
- 3+ years of supply chain operations and logistics experience
- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
