Job description

Description
We are looking for an experienced Alignment Technician to join our heavy-duty service team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience performing alignments and suspension-related repairs on Class 8 trucks and commercial vehicles.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who takes pride in accurate work, understands heavy-duty steering and suspension systems, and can work efficiently in a professional repair environment.
  • Perform precision alignments on Class 8 trucks and heavy-duty commercial vehicles
  • Inspect steering, suspension, tires, axles, and related components
  • Diagnose alignment and tire-wear issues
  • Perform necessary steering and suspension repairs
  • Operate and maintain heavy-duty alignment equipment
  • Perform computerized wheel alignments and accurately document results
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and shop procedures
  • Identify additional repairs needed to ensure safe and proper vehicle operation
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations to service advisors and management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Less than a high school education; or up to one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ASE Med/Heavy Truck. Must maintain insurability for business purpose vehicle operations.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud, when in proximity to running diesel engine or operating air powered tools.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of heavy-duty truck alignment experience preferred
  • Experience working on Class 8 trucks required
  • Strong understanding of heavy-duty steering and suspension systems
  • Ability to diagnose tire wear and alignment-related problems
  • Hunter alignment equipment experience is a plus
  • Ability to read and understand alignment specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license
  • CDL is a plus but not required
