As the brand continues to grow, Handel's Homemade Ice Cream is seeking Cashiers & Ice Cream Scoopers to join our team in both Full & Part-Time roles at our new Hurst, TX, location. Our Cashiers & Scoopers work in a high-spirited and fun environment but get the job done with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity. As a Cashier & Ice Cream Scooper at Handel’s, you will be the face of our store and the first impression for each customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to describe, discuss, and serve all menu items to guests
  • Execute friendly, engaging, and genuine customer service during fast-moving and busy service hours
  • Ability to solve problems and find positive resolutions to challenging questions, requests, and/or interactions
  • Ability to operate a cash register/credit card terminal/point of sale (POS) touchscreen and have adequate cash handling skills
  • Ability to stand, walk and move about for prolonged periods of time with full use of the hands and wrists
  • Ability to lift, carry and move a minimum of 25 lbs. multiple times over the course of a shift
  • Ability and willingness to perform important cleaning & sanitations tasks in compliance with statewide industry standards and regional regulations
  • Consistently arrive on time for all scheduled shifts throughout the week and follow proper company protocol if unable to do so
  • Maintain a balanced sense of urgency while still being friendly, engaging, and navigating guests through the menu experience
  • Other duties as required

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Experience in the food service industry is preferred but not required
  • Some professional employment experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for long periods
  • Food Handlers’ Card or ability to obtain upon employment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work evenings & weekends
