We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior Parts Manufacturing Planner to lead production planning activities within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment supporting advanced additive manufacturing technologies. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing production schedules, balancing capacity and material availability, and driving cross-functional execution to meet customer commitments and operational objectives. The Senior Parts Manufacturing Planner proactively identifies and resolves production constraints, mitigates risk, and partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, customer operations, and supply chain teams to improve throughput, efficiency, and on-time delivery performance. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments, exercises sound business judgment, and drives continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, manage, and optimize production schedules and work orders to support manufacturing objectives, customer commitments, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, review, and release production pull sheets to support weekly shipment requirements and business priorities.
  • Manage and maintain planning systems to ensure accurate visibility of production status, capacity, priorities, and schedule adherence.
  • Monitor production performance and work-in-process (WIP), proactively identifying schedule risks and driving corrective actions to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Evaluate production constraints, changing priorities, and customer requirements to perform schedule replanning and optimize resource utilization.
  • Prioritize customer orders and determine production sequencing to balance capacity, operational efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.

Customer Order & Shipment Management
  • Coordinate shipment schedules and production activities to meet customer expectations, delivery commitments, and business objectives.
  • Oversee customer orders throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring alignment with committed due dates and operational priorities.
  • Communicate order status, schedule risks, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders and operational leadership.
  • Identify at-risk orders and develop proactive mitigation strategies to maintain customer service levels and delivery performance.
  • Determine when duplicate builds, expedited processing, or additional production runs are required to support customer and operational requirements.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Lead cross-functional production prioritization activities, ensuring alignment between manufacturing capacity, customer demand, and business objectives.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing, customer operations, purchasing, and logistics teams to resolve production issues and improve operational performance.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers to ensure materials, subcontracted services, and deliverables support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with production leadership to maximize equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and manufacturing throughput.
  • Escalate resource constraints and drive cross-functional solutions that support on-time completion of customer and production requirements.

Forecasting & Capacity Planning
  • Analyze demand trends, production performance, and capacity utilization data to support forecasting, resource planning, and operational decision-making.
  • Develop capacity plans for equipment, labor, and manufacturing resources based on forecasted demand and business requirements.
  • Evaluate production workloads and recommend schedule, staffing, or resource adjustments to optimize throughput and efficiency.
  • Support long-range operational planning by identifying future capacity needs, resource requirements, and production constraints.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Proactively identify scheduling risks, bottlenecks, and production issues before they impact quality, delivery, or operational performance.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to resolve production delays, quality concerns, and capacity constraints.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance planning accuracy, workflow efficiency, resource utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key planning metrics, providing data-driven recommendations to improve schedule adherence, throughput, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance.

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, skills, and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Four years of production planning, manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain, or operations experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and production control principles, with the ability to effectively balance shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, MRP, MES, or other manufacturing planning systems to support production planning and operational decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities, adapt to changing business demands, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to think critically, work independently, and develop practical solutions in environments that are fast-paced, not always well-defined, and require sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, and limited direction.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with a continuous improvement focus and the ability to develop innovative solutions to evolving operational challenges.

  • This position serves the Production Planning Group, which includes the need to work on export-controlled products from aerospace and defense customers

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, additive manufacturing (3D printing), regulated manufacturing, or high-mix/low-volume production environments.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, AS9100, or other regulated manufacturing quality systems and requirements.
  • Experience supporting customer-specific, engineered-to-order, or customized manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies, production workflows, and capacity-constrained manufacturing environments.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
