As a DevOps Engineer within the Ford ADAS DevOps Team, you will play a critical role in enabling scalable, reliable, and secure development pipelines that support ADAS vehicle software and tooling. This role has a strong emphasis on CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, large-scale C/C++ build systems (Bazel), and DevOps platform engineering to support safety-critical ADAS development.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms supporting ADAS software development.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize GitHub Actions workflows for C/C++, Python, and multi-language build pipelines.
  • Support and improve Bazel-based build systems, including build performance, caching, and CI integration.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Build, maintain, and deploy Docker containers and support Kubernetes-based workloads.
  • Partner with software engineers to integrate CI/CD best practices into C/C++ development workflows.
  • Improve reliability and observability of CI/CD systems through monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional ADAS teams to remove DevOps, build, and infrastructure bottlenecks.
  • Implement secure CI/CD practices including secrets management, artifact signing, and access controls.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
  • Hands-on, production experience with GitHub Actions for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • 2+ years of experience with Docker-based containerization.
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux fundamentals
  • 2+ years of experience with scripting Python
  • 2+ years of experience working with C and/or C++ codebases and build tooling.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse engineering teams.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for large mono-repos or multi-repo environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong experience supporting Bazel build systems in CI environments.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes deployments and operational patterns.
  • Experience with build optimization techniques such as remote caching and parallelization in Bazel.
  • Familiarity with backend services or APIs built in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
  • Experience implementing CI/CD observability, metrics, and alerting.
  • Experience operating workloads on public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Interest or familiarity with ADAS, embedded systems, robotics, or autonomous vehicle software.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with self-hosted GitHub Actions runners.
  • Exposure to SRE practices and reliability engineering.
