Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
Eskenazi Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Information Services Project Management Office (PMO) to lead the governance, delivery, and continuous improvement of technology projects across the organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the IS Project Management Office, driving project portfolio management, resource planning, stakeholder engagement, and project governance while ensuring technology initiatives align with organizational priorities and business objectives.
The PMO Manager provides leadership and development for a team of Project Managers, establishes and maintains project management standards and methodologies, and serves as a key partner to operational, clinical, and technology leaders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring successful project delivery, effective resource utilization, and informed executive decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
While primarily serving in a leadership capacity, the PMO Manager may also directly manage select high-priority or complex technology initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
PMO Leadership & Governance
  • Lead and oversee the Information Services Project Management Office (PMO), providing strategic direction, portfolio governance, and operational management.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve project management methodologies, standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Manage project intake, prioritization, resource allocation, and portfolio planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain project governance frameworks, reporting structures, performance metrics, and risk management practices.
  • Ensure projects align with organizational goals, strategic priorities, and available resources.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and PMO staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and foster a high-performing team culture.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain project management talent.
  • Monitor team productivity, workload distribution, and resource utilization.

Project & Portfolio Management
  • Provide oversight of technology implementation and software deployment projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Manage select high-priority projects through initiation, planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Support organizational capital planning, budgeting, and financial oversight related to technology investments.
  • Ensure consistent project documentation, communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with Information Services, operational, and executive leaders to establish priorities and support strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project portfolio performance, governance activities, and PMO operations.
  • Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Support executive decision-making through portfolio reporting and project performance insights.

Vendor & Operational Management
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, implementation partners, and procurement-related project activities.
  • Promote operational excellence through process improvement, data-driven decision making, and continuous service enhancement.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting hospital operations.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of leadership experience in a healthcare organization.
  • Associates degree with a PMP certification, and 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare organization may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • ITIL/ITSM certification preferred
  • Participates in a 24x7 on-call team rotation to support hospital operations
