Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and optimizing third-party on-prem, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions used by the Columbus Consolidated Government (CCG). This role ensures cloud and enterprise solutions are effectively integrated, secure, and aligned with business needs. The Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between General Government and Public Safety departments, vendors, and IT leadership, focusing on providing solution support, managing vendor relationships, configuring and maintaining systems, and overseeing smaller-scale technology projects.
  • Provides daily support for on-prem, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with third-party vendors for technical support, issue resolution, and enhancement requests.
  • Coordinates upgrades, patches, and releases for cloud-based and enterprise applications.
  • Consults with business units in General Government to evaluate solution requests, determine feasibility, and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • Configures and administers supported applications to meet business and security requirements.
  • Monitors service level agreements (SLAs) and ensures vendors meet contractual obligations.
  • Manages small to medium-sized projects, including system implementations, integrations, and migrations.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, including system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provides end-user training and technical assistance on supported systems.
  • Research industry trends and emerging cloud technologies to recommend improvements and ensure best practices.
  • Produces reports and dashboards to assist leadership with decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Provides updates to IT leadership on project status, risks, and issues.
  • May be required to participate in after-hours upgrades, testing, or incident response.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Educational and Training Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. One to three years of experience supporting SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS systems, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Physical Requirements
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table with intermittent standing and walking. The employee must occasionally lift light and heavy objects, use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguish between shades of color. Retirement Plan
The Columbus Consolidated Government offers a defined benefit retirement plan to eligible employees who work in General Government and in Public Safety. Employees in the pension plan must meet both age and years of service requirements to qualify for retirement. The current vesting period is ten years, and the current pension contribution rate is 8% of your gross salary.
Supplemental Retirement Plan
The Columbus Consolidated Government offers a Deferred Compensation Plan or supplemental retirement plan that is tax deferred.
