Job description

Job Title: Local Contract - Computed Tomography Technologist Number of positions: 1 Years of experience: One to three years Shift: Night shifts- 40 hours Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 03/31/2024 Hourly pay: $45.95 OT: 1.5 Weekly Pay: $1,723.13 Summary Department: Computerized Tomography CT Shift timings: 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday (4 Days/10 Hours) Per Week: 40 Hours Roles & Responsibilities
  • Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues.
  • Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
  • Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.
  • Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
  • Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
  • Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
  • Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of three years of current CT Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology Tech/CT Tech program
  • Active unencumbered CT Tech Alabama state license
  • One year of Cerner experience
  • ARRT Certification

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
