GENERAL MANAGER: A HOSPITALITY LEADER

This management role is behind the daily success and long-term growth of our hotel, providing strategic leadership and upholding our brand standards across all departments. You'll develop strategies for improving revenue, elevating guest experiences, and building up the hotel teams. With an analytical mindset, you'll find ways to increase profits through strategic budgeting, forecasting, inventory coordination, and expense control activities. You'll analyze profit and loss results, identify areas for growth, and develop competitive sales and marketing initiatives alongside the sales team.

Our General Manager maintains high levels of accountability and inspires staff to go above and beyond for guests. Leading by example, you'll encourage team members to keep improving, and you'll coach them to help develop their talent. You'll ensure they work together to elevate the hospitality experience and improve departmental efficiency. This role also ensures the effective management of guest balances, direct bill receivables, inventory controls, and compliant vendor purchasing practices.

To support revenue growth, you'll set sales targets with the sales teams, analyze competitive market surveys, and coordinate property marketing efforts. The General Manager also engages in community outreach, seeking out and partnering with local organizations and businesses to enhance our visibility and build more profitable, long-lasting relationships. In all your activities, you'll do what's best for the hotel, our staff, and our guests.


WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent educational qualification in hotel management or business administration
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Leadership skills for motivating and training employees
  • Superior customer service skills and the ability to professionally, respectfully interact with people from all cultures
  • Fantastic presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft programs, and hotel property management systems
  • Ability to take initiative and uphold team accountability
  • Ability to stay organized, plan ahead, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate office equipment, move up to 50 lbs., work in guest rooms, and quickly adapt to changing priorities/time constraints
