Makeup internships are short-term, practical work experiences designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in makeup artistry. These internships typically take place with beauty brands, salons, fashion studios, or production companies, allowing interns to learn about makeup application, product knowledge, and industry standards under the supervision of experienced professionals. Participants often assist with makeup for photoshoots, events, or clients while gaining hands-on experience and building a professional portfolio. Makeup internships are valuable stepping stones for aspiring makeup artists to network, develop skills, and explore different career paths within the beauty industry.

What kinds of hands-on experiences can I expect during a makeup internship?

As a makeup intern, you can expect to gain practical experience by assisting professional makeup artists with tasks such as prepping workstations, organizing makeup kits, and performing basic application techniques under supervision. You'll often have opportunities to observe and support makeup application for photo shoots, fashion shows, or film and television productions. Interns also learn about sanitation standards, product knowledge, and client communication, which are essential for success in the industry.
