Job Description Summary
The Continuing Education Graduate Assistant will support strategic initiatives that expand Lewis University's continuing education, workforce development, micro-credential, and lifelong learning ecosystem. This role combines marketing, operational support, learner engagement, digital innovation, and AI-enabled workflow support to help scale the impact and visibility of continuing education programs.
This position is ideal for a graduate student interested in higher education innovation, workforce development, digital learning, marketing, AI-enabled productivity, or operational strategy. The Graduate Assistant will collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to support initiatives that strengthen enrollment growth, learner experience, community engagement, and operational efficiency.
The role also includes exposure to emerging AI tools, automation platforms, and agentic workflows that support modern continuing education operations, communications, and content management.
Responsibilities
Continuing Education Operations & Program Support
-
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Support administrative and operational processes related to continuing education and workforce development programs.
-Assist with enrollment tracking, learner communication, reporting, and program coordination across multiple continuing education platforms.
-Maintain organized records, project trackers, SOPs, and shared documentation.
-Support coordination of workshops, professional development programs, webinars, micro-credential initiatives, and community learning events.
-Assist with data collection and reporting related to program participation, learner engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Marketing, Communications & Digital Engagement
-Assist in developing and executing marketing and outreach campaigns for continuing education programs and workforce initiatives.
-Create and manage content for email campaigns, newsletters, social media, digital promotions, and learner communications.
-Support website updates and content management for continuing education and micro-credential offerings.
-Design promotional materials and digital assets using platforms such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
-Help strengthen visibility and engagement for continuing education initiatives across internal and external audiences.
AI, Automation & Digital Innovation Support
-Support the exploration and implementation of AI-enabled workflows that improve operational efficiency, communication, and learner support.
-Assist with the use of AI tools for content drafting, marketing support, research synthesis, meeting summaries, workflow optimization, and administrative efficiency.
-Support experimentation with automation and agentic workflows using tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Make.com, Zapier, or related platforms.
-Help document and improve repeatable workflows, processes, and operational systems.
-Contribute ideas and recommendations for leveraging emerging technologies to strengthen continuing education operations and learner engagement.
Community & Learner Engagement
-Support outreach and relationship-building efforts with students, alumni, workforce partners, and community organizations.
-Assist in gathering learner testimonials, success stories, and program impact examples.
-Help coordinate networking and engagement opportunities connected to continuing education and workforce initiatives.
-Support initiatives that strengthen learner experience, accessibility, and adult learner engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
-Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at Lewis University.
-Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Interest in continuing education, workforce development, adult learning, digital learning, or higher education innovation.
-Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn emerging AI tools and digital productivity platforms.
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
-Experience with social media, content creation, project coordination, or marketing support preferred.
-Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude) or workflow automation platforms is preferred but not required.
-Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and contribute proactively in a collaborative environment.
-Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
