Job description

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of drivers while ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service? At J&M Tank Lines, Inc., we're looking for a Driver Manager at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL who thrives on leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration to join our team.
What You'll Do:
As a Driver Manager, you'll be the critical link between our organization, drivers, and customers. You'll:
  • Lead and mentor associates to achieve operational and safety goals.
  • Balance the needs of customers, drivers, and the business to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your team of drivers and internal associates.
  • Ensure compliance with company and federal DOT regulations while making safety-conscious decisions.
  • Support drivers with daily dispatches, payroll, home time, and paperwork through our J&M Mobile App and other systems.
  • Collaborate with departments to resolve challenges and implement creative solutions to improve driver retention.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree or transportation experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills: Someone who can inspire and motivate a team to perform at their best.
  • Customer-focused mindset: An individual who prioritizes excellent service for both customers and drivers.
  • Organizational skills: The ability to monitor driver hours, manage paperwork, and ensure timely communication.
  • Proactive problem-solver: Someone who can identify issues, address them effectively, and escalate when necessary.
  • Experience with TMW or similar operational software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
