Job description

Description

Great client relationships aren't an accident - they're built by someone who thinks a few moves ahead, spots the growth opportunity before the client asks, and owns the outcome, not just the task list. That's you.

As an Account Manager on our Client Services team, you'll own a significant book of business and drive its growth - blending sharp strategic thinking with genuine relationship-building to deliver results clients notice. You'll set the pace for your pod, mentor where needed, and make sure every account gets the attention it deserves.

About UpSwell

UpSwell helps clients turn campaigns into real, measurable growth - pairing sharp strategy with the kind of hands-on client care that builds relationships, not just transactions. We're a fast-growing team that moves quickly, backs each other up, and takes pride in doing right by the clients we serve. It's the kind of place where good work gets noticed - we've been named a "Best and Brightest" company five times over.

Why You'll Love It Here

We're growing fast - which means real opportunities to grow your career right along with us.

Hybrid work environment that gives you flexibility without losing the team energy.

What You'll Own

Manage a designated book of business - proven ability to handle $300K, or a team book exceeding $500K per month.

Drive growth through regular, proactive outreach on order size, frequency, and channel mix.

Lead monthly planning with your MC to prioritize outreach across the book, and daily stand-ups to review account status and unblock issues.

Prepare for every client conversation with a sharp read on campaign performance and program enhancements worth suggesting.

Contact clients directly to solicit next orders and finalize route selections and creative requests.

Keep MUS SalesView current with next-due reminders and account status.

Step into Asst. AM responsibilities when a pod doesn't have one, and oversee Asst. AM work when it does.

Handle pod-level administrative requests - penetration reports, suppression uploads, design requests, tracking numbers, and non-standard match-back analysis.

Requirements

 What You Bring

2-4 years in account management, client success, or a related field.

Proven ability to manage a $300K book of business, or oversee a team book exceeding $500K per month.

Moderate proficiency with UpSwell tools and relevant software.

Strategic thinking paired with strong relationship-building instincts.

Comfort leading conversations, prioritizing a busy book, and keeping a pod on track.

How We'll Know You're Crushing It

Your book of business grows - in size, depth, and client satisfaction.

Accounts get the outreach and attention they're owed, every month.

Your pod runs smoothly, with issues caught early and priorities clear.

The Fine Print

This role reports to the Sr VP, Sales and carries no supervisory responsibilities.

UpSwell is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
