Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. You'll also be involved in landscape construction, sprinkler systems, and grounds maintenance.Essential tasks will include basic mechanical repairs on pumps and motors, electrical system maintenance including air conditioning, and assisting in carpentry projects like framing and flooring installations. Your expertise will contribute to the overall safety and aesthetic of our community, making this an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact in a traditional, customer-focused environment.Requirements for this Maintenance Worker II jobTo succeed as a Full-Time Maintenance Worker II with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, candidates must possess a diverse skill set and meet specific qualifications. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid Nevada Driver License to ensure eligibility for the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program. Candidates should have a strong physical capacity, able to engage in consistent and extended work involving bending, lifting, and other demanding activities across various environmental conditions. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are crucial for coordinating with team members and addressing community needs.
