Job description

Tech Specialist North Bank (Arena, Podium, Stadium) Part Time On Call
NATURE OF WORK:
Responsible for the operation of a broad range of technology and technical systems, which include audio, video, theatrical equipment and other related systems and equipment.
SUPERVISION:
Under the supervision of the Technical Services Manager. Employee schedule is based on event schedule and availability.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Operates technical systems and equipment. Keeps abreast of technology developments and provides recommendations to management for improvements as required.
  • Operates systems including but not limited to video cameras, audio consoles, lighting consoles, instant replay machines, video playback systems, and video switching gear.
  • Maintains technology, technical systems, and equipment
  • Provides both internal and external guest service, including fellow employees, contract service providers, event personnel and event attendees.
  • May train users in startup and basic use of A/V equipment as required.
  • Communicates any client complaints, problems, or compliments to supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Duties vary and require independent action in devising new methods and procedures.
  • Ability to solve problems within the assigned work area.
  • Involves a broad spectrum of activities in all areas of the facilities.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or GED required, and 1-2 years of related AV experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and theories of technical systems.
  • Experience with audio visual systems and/or camera operation preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices required for the scope of work. Competent in problem solving, time management and personal effectiveness.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends and holidays in a seasonal capacity.
