Maintenance Techs, short for Maintenance Technicians, are skilled professionals responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of equipment, machinery, or buildings. They perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that systems operate efficiently and safely. Their work can include tasks such as electrical repairs, plumbing, HVAC maintenance, and general facility care. Maintenance Techs are essential in preventing breakdowns and minimizing downtime in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a maintenance tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Maintenance Tech, you need a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, often supported by a high school diploma or technical certification. Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, hand and power tools, and maintenance management software is typically required.
