The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient use of all machinery, as well as maintaining general building systems and equipment to meet all food and workplace health and safety standards. The Tech III has demonstrated high proficiency in multiple maintenance disciplines and can serve as a subject matter expert. Able to work under minimal supervision. Contributes to troubleshooting and efficiency efforts.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure efficiency, work safety, and GMP compliance in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain the building, plumbing, electrical, air, water, HVAC and heating systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, and to reduce operational expenses.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts on equipment and buildings, including hoses, belts, wiring, piping, switches, fuses, trim, lights, panels, and support structures which may include walkways, carpets, and stairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop and work area, including work areas which may exist outside of the maintenance shop.
  • Ensure compliance to all food safety initiatives including building security, GMP and HACCP requirements.
  • Follow all GMP & Safety rules and regulations, (personal hygiene, trash removal, etc.), including proper use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all PM, Sanitation, Food Safety, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Procedures.
  • Responsible for adding waste to a satellite accumulation container, labeling, and transporting hazardous waste.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Every employee is expected to participate in education/training about safety, business contact and other matters, including Mane’s environmental commitments, and then actively apply this to job-related and job-specific roles and responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma with Vocational schooling in Maintenance programs such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, boiler and refrigeration systems, PLC, and welding trades or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in preventative and proactive maintenance.
  • Flavor/food industry experience a plus
  • Computer literate
  • Physically able to lift 80 pounds

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong math skills
  • Schematic and blueprint reading ability
  • Ability to prioritize a heavy work schedule
  • Experience with CMMS maintenance systems
  • Capability to develop and implement work orders, equipment installations and projects
  • Good computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and set up experience (Modicon preferred)
  • HVAC knowledge
  • Boiler systems experience
  • Refrigeration systems knowledge
  • Knowledge of equipment calibrations and equipment installations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
