Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trailers and transportation equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring trailers remain safe and roadworthy. Travel to customer locations or service sites may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, chassis, and transportation equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on brakes, suspension systems, wheel assemblies, lighting systems, and trailer components
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues
  • Replace damaged or worn parts including brake components, bearings, air lines, lights, mud flaps, and suspension parts
  • Conduct trailer inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and minor structural repairs as needed
  • Use hand tools, power tools, air tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Assist with emergency repairs and service calls when required
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
  • Communicate with supervisors, drivers, and customers regarding repair status and maintenance needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in trailer repair, fleet maintenance, diesel mechanics, or a related mechanical field preferred
