Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair of Oskaloosa Food Products’ facilities, equipment, and machinery by planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.

This position also requires strong administrative capabilities, including reporting and budgeting. Overall, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that Oskaloosa Food Products' facilities are properly maintained and equipped to support the company’s business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintenance strategy: Developing and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Maintenance procedures: Designing maintenance procedures and ensuring they are implemented
  • Inspections: Performing inspections to identify problems and make repairs
  • Scheduling: Scheduling maintenance tasks and responding to emergencies
  • Staffing: Hiring, training, and managing maintenance staff, subcontractors, and other vendors
  • Administration: Planning, organizing, and managing administrative procedures, such as tracking budgets and expenses
  • Reporting: Preparing reports on safety inspections and production statistics
  • Projects: Managing maintenance-related projects and evaluating progress on a regular basis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field 
  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance, with 1+ years in a supervisory/managerial role
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Working knowledge of air compressors, motors, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and production machinery required
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 regulations

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, stand, sit, and walk for 8 hours at a time
  • Able to make precisely coordinated movements with fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Vision – Near and Far vision, depth perception, the ability to distinguish differences in colors, and ability to focus 
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, pulling, reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation skills using hands, arms, shoulders, back, and legs
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergency repairs
