Job description

OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Lead reports to the Facilities Supervisor and serves as the main technician for repairing/fixing and provding preventative maintenance care for the Kroc Center facility. They will assist the Facilities supervisor in larger construction and maintenance projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify repairs and report to Facilities Supervisor for stratgey and action steps.
• Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and be able to educate staff and guest base.
• Daily monitoring of facility, reporting issues, and maintaining checklist of maintainance/janitorial items.
• Assist Supervisor in overseeing the general maintenance and cleaning of the facility.
• Be able to learn and manage the Audio Visual equipment and set up for events/programs and rentals.
• Provide venue setup, breakdown, and cleanup for special events, programs and services.
• Provide compactor functionality and garbage management as needed.
• Respond to fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous materials incidents.
• Help guide vendors and contractors as needed and as directed by Facilities Supervisor.
• Train and assess janitor staff cleaning and deep cleaning efforts.
• Support major property projects and tasks around the center when needed.
• Other related janitor/maintenance duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in Maintenance (minimum 2 years, but up to 5 years preferred)
• 21 years of age (required)
• Valid CA Driver's license (required)
• Experience in plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and electrical work.
• Obtain Fork lift Certification within 6 months of hire.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Understand the basic set up and safety requirements for a workshop space and tools.
• Respond to, assess and determine action steps for facility repairs and damages.
• Work well with a team and individually (Be self-motivated and take initiative to follow up on tasks).

• Make communication essential to daily routine and major facility set-ups.
• Understand basic functions and maintenance repairs for plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and electrical work (Must be able to address maintenance issues and present solutions).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
EQUIPMENT USED:
• Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software (Microsoft Word)
• Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
• Basic understanding of iPad tablets and its functions for communication application use.
