Join the BNE Real Estate Group team as a Full-Time Maintenance Associate for The Enclave Collection in Jersey City, New Jersey, and dive into an exciting, hands-on role that offers daily challenges and opportunities for growth. In this onsite position, you'll be integral to ensuring our properties are well-maintained and safe for residents, main duties are work orders, turns (including painting/cleaning) and preventative maintenance tasks.

With a pay rate of $26-28/hr based on experience level, you'll be rewarded for your expertise while working in a professional and collaborative environment. What are the maintenance associate responsibilities?

As a Maintenance Associate at BNE Real Estate Group, you will play a crucial role in the daily upkeep of our community in Jersey City, New Jersey. Your responsibilities will include executing work orders and apartment turnovers (includes painting) promptly and efficiently, ensuring all maintenance operations run smoothly. You'll perform routine maintenance tasks and conduct daily inspections of the property, identifying any potential issues before they escalate. To excel as a Maintenance Associate at BNE Real Estate Group, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in property management or relevant maintenance fields. Proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Yardi, is essential for effective communication and task management. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, coupled with strong organizational skills and excellent time management, will help you succeed in this fast-paced role. Additionally, candidates should be prepared to work in varying environmental conditions, maintain punctual attendance, and participate in the emergency on-call program (rotating) . A valid Driver's License is also required.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm; emergency on-call required (rotated between team members)

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years' experience in property management and or other relevant maintenance fields

Maintenance

  • Responsible for the completion of assigned maintenance service requests in a timely manner
  • Responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks in elevators, hallways and amenities, etc.
  • Maintain inventory lists for cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Complete daily inspection of property during your walks and notify Managers of any issues
  • Maintain the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots and other common areas
  • Prep and paint apartments based on turn schedule
  • Prepare make ready units, including removing trash, cleaning and painting
  • Paint common areas
  • Assist maintenance team with snow removal and landscaping
  • Replace, repair or adjust locks, cylinders, latches, door checks, springs knobs, hinges and window blinds
  • Replace, repair or adjust receptacles, plates, sockets, switches, and lighting fixtures
  • Replace, repair or adjust speedy connectors, washers, faucets, cartridges, flush meter, other plumbing parts, toilet seats, toilet hardware, showerheads, shower rods and curtains
  • Install smoke alarms and any other fire safety devices
  • Grout and replace wall tiles
  • Clear local waste line and drain stoppages
  • Clean filters for HVAC
  • Check and report leaks, damage, debris and security issues
  • Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, amenity spaces, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Manager/Property Manager
  • Assist with the preventative maintenance program
  • Assist management with other projects, as requested and required
  • Maintain excellent customer service with the residents and building staff
  • If required, participate in the emergency on-call program

Safety

  • Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
  • Ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner
