JOB SUMMARY:

Overall Summary of Function

The Maintenance Associate supports the day to day operational functions of the Maintenance Department by performing hands-on repair, painting, sanding, and finishing tasks to ensure furniture, props, equipment, and related inventory meet Blueprint Studiosโ€™ show ready standards. This role performs general labor activities including surface preparation, brushing, spray painting, minor repairs, touch-ups, and material preparation while following direction from Leads and Supervisors.

The Maintenance Associate contributes to the refurbishment and restoration of products by executing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently, including assisting with handling, lifting, repositioning, loading, and unloading items as needed. This role also supports cleaning of work areas, tools, and equipment to maintain an organized and safe environment while ensuring attention to detail in all tasks performed.

The Maintenance Associate is expected to follow all Standard Operating Procedures, safety protocols, and PPE requirements while completing work in a safe and efficient manner. This position supports overall department productivity by following instructions, communicating issues as needed, and contributing to a reliable, quality driven, and team-oriented work environment

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
At Minimum Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks including painting, sanding, surface preparation, repair, refurbishment, and finishing of furniture, props, equipment, and related inventory.

  • Perform general labor activities such as brushing, spray painting, sanding, and material preparation in support of maintenance and fabrication needs.

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, removing rust or debris, stripping old coatings, sanding, and smoothing materials using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Apply fillers, putty, or spackle to repair surface imperfections such as cracks, holes, and damage prior to finishing.

  • Mix and apply paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings using brushes, rollers, sprayers, or other appropriate methods to meet company quality and presentation standards.

  • Complete minor repairs and touch-ups on furniture, fixtures, props, and display items to ensure show ready condition.

  • Follow quality control standards to ensure all repaired and finished items are clean, complete, and meet Blueprint Studiosโ€™ quality expectations.

  • Assist with specialty finishing tasks as needed, including touch-ups and basic decorative work.

  • Support material handling by assisting with lifting, repositioning, loading, and unloading of items, including bulky or awkward materials.

  • Assist with maintaining clean work areas, equipment, and tools, ensuring maintenance spaces remain organized and operational.

  • Set up and safely use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other equipment required to complete assigned tasks.

  • Accurately follow work instructions, repair priorities, and task assignments provided by Leads and Supervisors.

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures related to maintenance processes, quality control, and documentation.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and proper handling of tools, chemicals, coatings, and equipment.

  • Report damaged items, material needs, unsafe conditions, or operational concerns promptly to Leads or Supervisors.

  • Maintain attention to detail in all assigned tasks to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner while following direction from Leads and Supervisors.

  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
At Minimum Training, Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Prior experience in a maintenance, fabrication, carpentry, or similar shop environment preferred.

  • Basic experience with painting equipment, paint preparation, and application techniques.

  • Ability to safely use and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license required.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license with clear driving record.

  • Availability for overtime, nights, weekends, and emergency support as needed.
