As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for all maintenance activities related to equipment and for performing administrative functions to support site operations. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining tooling measurement equipment, such as micrometres and height gauges, as well as ensuring that tolerances are maintained to prevent the production of poor-quality products.

Your Day-to-Day as an Maintenance Technician. Youโ€™ll be:

  • Operate and maintain various equipment typically found in a wood production facility.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively anticipate and diagnose problems, as well as perform mechanical maintenance.
  • Perform routine administrative functions, including accurately and efficiently updating and maintaining inventory.
  • Complete housekeeping duties as requested and ensure that the designated area is clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Monitor and optimize stock inventories of new tools, in-process tools, heaters, and other equipment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers regarding quality issues, specifications, and other relevant matters.
  • Inspect equipment and report any damage or mechanical problems.
  • Record and report operational data, such as readings from meters, instruments, and gauges.

What youโ€™ll bring: 
To excel in this vital role, youโ€™ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  
  • A minimum of 5 years of industrial experience is necessary.  
  • Ability to work effectively within a team with minimal supervision.  
  • Responsible for maintaining and adjusting equipment to maximize production and minimize downtime.  
  • Must demonstrate a professional attitude and collaborate well with others.  
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all workplace and job safety procedures.  
  • Perform and coordinate effective housekeeping in the facility.  
  • Utilize daily checklists, preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, and work orders to ensure optimal performance of the plants.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.  
  • Capable of performing mechanical tasks, including bearing replacement, motor alignment, basic rigging, and basic welding knowledge; multi-craft skills (electrical knowledge is a plus).  
  • Must be able to work at heights as required or on elevated surfaces.
