Job Summary

The Tuxedo Club is searching for a knowledgeable, self-motivated Building Maintenance Assistant to join our Team!

Working with with the Maintenance Supervisor and Systems Manager, the Maintenance Assistant will help ensure that all facilities and equipment are in good working order and that any necessary repairs are carried out in a timely manner. They will alert managers of when permits and inspections need to be completed, and may assist with general HVAC and health and safety facility issues. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding & knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, equipment and repair techniques, understanding of utilities, electricity and a strong customer service orientation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with preventative maintenance, life cycle requirements and repairs of facilities and equipment to ensure good working order.
  • Schedule and coordinate all annual inspections and equipment services.
  • Assure security of the facility and respond to facility equipment alarms and system failures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work for all equipment repairs and warranties.
  • Oversee opening and closing of the pool and provide mechanical support regarding filtration and chlorine systems.
  • Provide maintenance support to members and employees living on property.
  • Coordinate with the Village of Tuxedo building inspection to ensure compliance with all local codes.
  • Oversee contracted services, to ensure that all work is carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that all safety and security protocols are followed.
  • Report any potential safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in similar capacity and knowledgeable of industry best practice.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (MaintainX or similar)
  • Experience overseeing multiple locations, helpful but not required.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs
    • (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)

The Buildings Maintenance Assistant is an hourly position. It is expected that, at times, you may have to work on evenings, weekends, and /or holidays.   • Expect to be on their feet for up to 6 hours at time
  • Must practice proper body mechanics and use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury
