Job TitleOn Call Building Maintenance AssistantJob Description SummaryC&W Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Handyperson / Building Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep and repair of facility operations. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, assisting with building repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for occupants. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and capable of handling a wide variety of maintenance responsibilities across commercial facilities.Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general building maintenance and repair tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting work
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance needs
  • Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of building systems
  • Repair or replace fixtures, furnishings, flooring, doors, and other building components as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition
  • Support preparation of work areas, including moving furniture and equipment as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and facility management teams on larger repair projects
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used
  • Assist with emergency response situations such as spills, leaks, or equipment malfunctions
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a similar hands-on role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Physically able to lift, carry, and move materials (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and perform manual tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed
  • OSHA or safety training certifications are a plus

The compensation for the position is: $22.10 - $26.00
