Job Description SummaryC&W Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Handyperson / Building Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep and repair of facility operations. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, assisting with building repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for occupants. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and capable of handling a wide variety of maintenance responsibilities across commercial facilities.
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general building maintenance and repair tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting work
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance needs
- Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of building systems
- Repair or replace fixtures, furnishings, flooring, doors, and other building components as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition
- Support preparation of work areas, including moving furniture and equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and facility management teams on larger repair projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used
- Assist with emergency response situations such as spills, leaks, or equipment malfunctions
Qualifications- 1-3 years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a similar hands-on role preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Physically able to lift, carry, and move materials (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and perform manual tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed
- OSHA or safety training certifications are a plus

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $22.10 - $26.00
