Job Description We are seeking a Mainframe Assembler Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM z/OS assembler, batch processing, and enterprise scheduling and a proven ability to analyze, maintain, and enhance mission-critical high-volume financial batch systems. Responsibilities: Own support and enhancement of legacy IBM z/OS assembler applications. Design, develop, and troubleshoot HLASM and JCL for high-volume batch workloads. Manage production batch schedules, SLAs, and recovery procedures. Analyze complex assembler codebases and deliver performance and reliability improvements. Operate within TSO/ISPF and administer GDGs, datasets, and VSAM structures. Coordinate changes and deployments using ISPW or equivalent tools. Support parallel sysplex, multi-LPAR environments, and workload distribution. Respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and document fixes. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of IBM Mainframe application development and production support. Assembler (HLASM) programming expertise. JCL development, troubleshooting, and batch processing with GDGs. Experience with Connect:Direct (NDM), ISPW or equivalent change management, and CA7 scheduling. Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and use of GitHub Copilot. Background supporting high-volume financial transaction and production batch environments with strict SLAs. Knowledge of sysplex architectures, multiple LPARs, and workload distribution. Understanding of mainframe datasets, VSAM, utilities, and production support processes. Experience using ServiceNow and/or Remedy for incident management. Ability to work independently in loosely documented legacy environments and resolve critical production issues quickly. Preferred Skills: Experience in financial services or banking. Background with check processing, image item processing, or payment platforms. Delivery of high-throughput, near-continuous availability transaction systems. Familiarity with SMP/E for maintenance and upgrades, and SAR or similar reporting tools.
