Our client seeks a Mainframe Engineer to develop and maintain high-volume, business-critical money movement platforms within brokerage record-keeping technology. You will collaborate with product, architecture, operations, and vendor partners to deliver stable, secure, and high-quality software across batch and online environments. The role requires strong COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL expertise, with a focus on analysis, testing, release management, and production support. Exposure to cloud integration, RESTful services, and stored procedures is beneficial.

  • Engage with business and systems partners to deliver high-quality, innovative software solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications across batch and online environments.
  • Perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects.

Experience Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of software development experience in business-critical, enterprise applications.
  • Excellent mainframe development skills in COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, IBM utilities, FileAID, Endevor, SQL, debuggers, schedulers, and IOMs.
  • Proven ability to perform hands-on, detailed analysis for batch and online systems.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting production software releases.
  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and resolve high-severity production issues.
  • Strong documentation and testing discipline, including unit, functional, and regression testing.
  • Experience writing COBOL or native stored procedures (preferred).
  • Experience with distributed technologies such as Java and RESTful APIs (preferred).
  • Awareness or exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including hybrid mainframe–cloud integration scenarios (preferred).


Education Requirements

  • BS/BA or advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Training or certification exposure related to AWS or Azure (preferred).
